Answering popular questions about silver shark paddle boards

Updated: Apr 15, 2023

Although we are entering the month of February and it is -10C outside, at Silver Shark we don't forget that summer is around the corner, which will bring a new season of paddle boarding! Now is the best time to learn more about the sport and prepare for an amazing summer on the water.

We answered 3 frequently asked questions:

1. Can I over-inflate my paddle board?

Answer: yes and no.

No, don't worry. You will not be able to have the physical strength to over-inflate your board with a manual pump.

On the other hand, it is possible to over-inflate your board with an electric pump. It is therefore EXTREMELY important to properly adjust the amount of PSI your electric pump will put into your paddle board.

Pro Tip: When the maximum PSI of your paddle board is 15, set the electric pump to a maximum of 14 PSI to avoid error.

2. I want to leave my board inflated all summer, is that possible?

The answer: Yes, no problem.

Silver Shark paddle boards can be left inflated indefinitely without a problem.

When you do this, it is important to keep it sheltered from bad weather and direct sunlight.

When the paddle board is left inflated in the sun for a long period of time it will create too much pressure inside. To avoid this, periodically remove pressure from the paddle board.

Pro tip: Rinse your board after each use with fresh water.

3. If I add more weight on the board than the recommended limit can I still paddle?

The answer: Yes, no problem.

The technology of the Silver Shark paddle boards makes them ultra stiff with optimal glide. So extra weight will have no impact on the stiffness of your paddle board. It only means that your cruising speed will be slower due to the excess weight. Maximum weight is a recommendation for the best experience on the water. So there is no problem bringing your friend or dog with you on your paddle board.

Pro tip: Use the PAW PAD if you want to bring your dog with you so your furry friend is comfortable.

Happy paddling!
